2018 marked the centenary of the 1918 Act that gave some women the right to vote for the first time. To celebrate the women who fought tirelessly for this right, the Museum of London commissioned FGreat Studio to produce a film about the Suffragettes.
It was an honor and a privilege to be part of this historic commemoration.
Our team prepared a very special film to be at the heart of ‘Votes for Women’ display. Experts were interviewed to tell the Suffragettes story and explain how their campaign started and developed.
We also talked to ordinary people of different ages and backgrounds to ask about their opinions on what the Suffragettes did and what they think their legacy is. Original objects from the Suffragettes were shown to all the participants so we could film their reactions to it.
The interviews were illustrated with 3D animated photographs and occasionally, texts were added on screen to add information. The use of green, white and purple on the film was carefully chosen as these were the colours that marked their campaign.
To make it even more contemporary, we invited young singers to perform ‘The March of The Women’ song.
The film was in display for more than a year and showed how the Suffragettes militancy continues to inspire, shock and divide opinion.
